Conference Scholarships

CASE District I is offering scholarship opportunities for new professionals hoping to attend the annual district conference. Four scholarships are available for the 2010 conference to be held in Boston on January 27-29. The scholarships will be awarded to new professionals who have been in the field for three years or less. Diversity will be one of the factors to be considered in selection of scholarship recipients.

For the purposes of this program, CASE defines a new advancement professional as any full-time professional with less than three years of experience in alumni relations, communications, advancement services or fundraising; or any full-time professional who has moved into a new professional area within the past three years.

Scholarships for new professionals cover the cost of the full conference and the new advancement professionals track registration. Recipients or their institutions will be responsible for expenses related to travel, lodging, and food costs.

Selection Process and Criteria

A committee of CASE District I volunteers selects recipients on the basis of (1) the candidate's experience, (2) the candidate's ability to express him/herself as outlined in the personal essay, and (3) the candidate's statement about the resources available for career development at his/her institution. Preference is given to people from institutions with extremely limited resources.

We encourage you to share this information with your staff or students who might be interested in learning more about the advancement profession. The scholarship application form must be postmarked, faxed or e-mailed by November 30, 2009. The selection committee will notify all applicants of their scholarship status by December 14, 2009.
